Žičkutė) lapsuudenmuistoja Neuvostoliiton aikaisessa Liettuassa.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Kokeellinen elokuva visualisoi lapsen näkökulmaa ajasta, jossa tapahtui mullistavia sosiaalisia ja poliittisia muutoksia. Muistot häilyvät, muuttuvat ja vaihtuvat toisiin kuin elävät vesivärimaalaukset. Liettuankielisenä kertojaäänenä toimii taiteilija itse. Elokuvassa menneisyys ja nykyisyys kohtaavat, dokumentoiden todellisen ja muiston häilyvää rajaa sekä sitä, miten muistomme muuttuvat hieman joka kerta kun niihin kajotaan. Muistomme siis voivat poiketa suurestikin oikeasti tapahtuneesta asiasta ja ovat siksi aina tulkinnanvaraisia.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Muistojen visualisoinnin tyyli on epävakaa, hauras ja ailahtelevainen. Pilviä tulee ja menee, mutta teoksen tapahtumien taustana pysyy kaukana häämöttävä taivas. Elokuva perustuu Liettuassa kuvattuihin kesätaivaan timelapse-videoihin sekä kolmiulotteiseen tietokoneanimaatioon.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Elokuva hyödyntää myös moderneja keinoälyalgoritmeja, joilla kerrotut piirteet visualisoidaan liikkuviin pilviin.</p>\n",

"en": "<p>Memories in the Clouds visualizes Kristina (Žičkutė) Laine’s childhood memories in Soviet Lithuania. The experimental film brings forth Kristina’s worldview as a child, during the vast socio-political changes of the collapsing Soviet Union. Memories blend with moods in a painterly experimental film. Kristina’s Lithuanian voiceover narrates the journey. Past meets the present, documenting the ephemeral definition of real and memory, and how our memories change each time they are accessed. Our memories can differ vastly from actual events and thus, are always subject to interpretation.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Memories are visualized as unstable, fragile, and capricious. Clouds come and go, but the magnificent sky remains overseeing the horizon. The film is based on a combination of timelapse videos of a summer sky, shot in Lithuania and 3D animation. The film also utilizes modern AI algorithms as animators, to visualize the narrated features into the moving clouds.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p></p>\n"
