"fi": "<p>Watchful on videoinstallaatio, joka tutkii ihmisen ja luonnon suhdetta sekä rinnakkaiseloamme muiden lajien kanssa.</p>\n<p>Teos heijastelee ihmisten halua lähestyä, tarkkailla ja ymmärtää ei-inhimillisiä naapureitaan erämaassa ja samalla se tutkii ihmisen häiritsevää ympäristöön puuttumista.</p>\n<p>Se on matka erilaisten maa- ja vesiympäristöjen halki muunlajisten ohjaamana. Villieläinten läsnäolo ja näkökulmat korostuvat taiteellisessa yrityksessä luoda eläinkeskeistä tarinankerrontaa ja tasapainottaa tyypillisesti ihmislähtöistä suhdetta ihmisen ja villieläimen välillä.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Videoinstallaatio yhdistää dokumentaarista materiaalia laajennettuun, kerronnalliseen äänimaisemaan, jossa useat äänitarinat resonoivat ja kietoutuvat toisiinsa. Tosielämän kohtaukset avautuvat samanaikaisesti useilla näytöillä unenomaisesti, paljastaen odottamattomia lajien välisiä kohtaamisia ja erilaisia näkökulmia.</p>\n<p>Ewa Górzna ja Katarzyna Miron ovat kuvataiteilijoita, jotka työskentelevät yhdessä liikkuvan kuvan parissa. Taiteellisessa työssään heitä kiinnostaa ihmisen suhde luontoon ja rinnakkaiselomme muiden lajien kanssa. Heidän taiteellinen metodologiansa tasapainoilee dokumentin ja fiktion rajalla tutkien erilaisia visuaalisia ja äänellisiä narratiiveja. Molemmilla taiteilijoilla on kuvataiteen maisterin tutkinto Kuvataideakatemiasta. Heidän elokuviaan ja installaatioitaan on esitetty useissa näyttelyissä Suomessa ja ulkomailla, sekä lukuisilla kansainvälisillä elokuva- ja videotaidefestivaaleilla. Tällä hetkellä he asuvat ja työskentelevät Helsingissä.</p>\n",

"en": "<p>Watchful is a video installation exploring the relationship between human and nature and our coexistence with other species.</p>\n<p>The work reflects on the people’s desire to approach, observe and comprehend their non-human neighbors</p>\n<p> in the wilderness and at the same time, it relates to human’s disturbing interference in the environment.</p>\n<p>It is a journey through diverse terrestrial and aquatic habitats, guided by non-human protagonists. Wild animals’ presence and viewpoints are emphasized in an artistic attempt to create animal-focused storytelling and balance the typically human oriented relationship between a man and a wild animal.</p>\n<p>The video installation combines documentary footage with expanded, narrative soundscape where multiple sonic stories resonate and intertwine. Real-life scenes unfold simultaneously on several screens in a dreamlike manner, revealing unexpected interspecies encounters and various points of views.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Ewa Górzna and Katarzyna Miron are visual artists working together in the field of moving image. In their artistic practice they are interested in human relationship with nature and our coexistence with other species. Their artistic methodology balances on the border between observatory documentary and fiction, exploring various forms of visual and sound narratives. Both artists hold Master of Fine Arts degree from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts. Their films and installations have been shown at various exhibitions in Finland and abroad and screened on numerous international film and video festivals. Currently they live and work in Helsinki.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p></p>\n"
